In June 2023, Anna Sohn made her highly successful debut at the Greek National Opera as Cio-Cio-San in a new production of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly for the opening of the Epidauros Festival at the Herodium in Athens, which was also recorded for the French channel Mezzo TV. This was followed in November 2023 by her successful debut at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, again as Cio-Cio-San in a new production of Madama Butterfly.

For her portrayal of Héléna in the German premiere of Holmès’s La Montagne Noire at the Oper Dortmund, she was nominated as “Best Singer of the Year” in the 2024 annual survey by Opernwelt.

During the 2024–25 season, Anna Sohn returned to the Greek National Opera as Mimì (La Bohème), and at the Metropolitan Opera Seoul, she made her role debut as Marguerite in a new production of Faust. 

During her eight seasons as a member of the ensemble of Oper Dortmund  —which was honored as “Best Opera House of the Year” at the prestigious Oper! Awards 2023, Anna Sohn gradually and successfully expanded her repertoire in new productions to include roles such as Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, Liù in Turandot (alongside Asmik Grigorian), Mimì in La Bohème (alongside Jonathan Tetelman), Elvire in La Muette de Portici and Brunhilda in the German premiere of Frédégonde. Frédégonde was broadcast live by Takt1, named “Rediscovery of the Year 2022” in Opernwelt’s annual survey, and nominated in the “Best Rediscovered Work” category at the International Opera Awards 2022. She also celebrated a major personal international success in 2026 as Matréna in the German stage premiere of Clémence de Grandval’s Mazeppa. In the Mozart repertoire, she made her debuts as Countess Almaviva and Donna Anna. A constant in her repertoire, however, is Violetta Valéry (La Traviata), a role she has portrayed in numerous new productions (most recently at the Oper Dortmund under Will Humburg and in a gala at the Seoul Arts Center) and guest performances (most recently at the Aalto Theater in Essen and upcoming at Oper Leipzig).

As part of a long-standing artistic partnership with the Korean National Opera, Anna Sohn has performed in numerous premieres: Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Juliette (Roméo et Juliette), Violetta Valéry (La Traviata), and the title role in Massenet’s Manon. She opened the 2025/2026 season at the Seoul Arts Center with a “Traviata” gala.

She has made guest appearances at numerous European opera houses and festivals, including the Teatro Regio di Parma, the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, the Teatro Verdi in Sardinia, as well as in Rome, Paris, Avignon, Porto, Luxembourg, Budapest, Mannheim and Zurich.

Anna Sohn is a sought-after concert singer and has performed at the Tonhalle Zurich, the Teatros del Canal in Madrid, the Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore, the Auditorium di Milano, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Malmö Music Theater, as well as in Birmingham, Princeton and Washington. Most recently, Anna Sohn has expanded her concert repertoire to include the soprano solos in Mendelssohn’s Elias and Paulus (Seoul Arts Center), as well as in Verdi’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Ninth, and Gounod’s Messe de Sainte-Cécile (Incheon). Because she possesses perfect pitch, she is also asought-after interpreter of contemporary music. Her most recent vocal world premiere was at the 2020 Ultraschall Festival in Berlin: Marko Nikodijević’s Abgesang with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra; she recorded this work under Jonathan Stockhammer in 2022 for the Wergo label.
